Dr. Gloria Ward earned her first D.D.S in her home country of Colombia, South America from CES University and received a Master of Science in Periodontal Prosthesis. She moved to Virginia in 1999 and obtained a Master of Science in Dental Materials and later on earned her second D.D.S. degree - Magna Cum Laude - at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003.
In addition to practicing comprehensive & esthetic dentistry, Dr. Ward has a special interest in Sleep Apnea and works with multiple Sleep Specialists in the area. She also speaks Spanish fluently.
Dr. Ward has had a part time faculty appointment at VCU since 1999 (full time member from 2003 to 2006). Most frequently, she has been working with the Oral Surgery residents in the planning and execution of complex treatments. Among other activities, she is past president of the Richmond Dental Society, Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association and International College of Dentists, holds membership in the American Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists, American Association of Dental Sleep Medicine, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Pierre Fauchard Academy Honors Societies. She belongs to multiple study clubs in town and has participated on several mission projects with the Virginia Dental Association and VCU School of Dentistry. She has been a member of the Board of Advisors for the General Practice Department at the VCU School of Dentistry, a delegate for the Virginia Dental Association and Secretary of the Richmond Dental Society. Dr. Ward has been selected multiple times by her peers and awarded “Top Doc” in Richmond Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine.
Susan Uhls - Business Administrator

Susan was born in California and grew up in Virginia Beach. She has called the Richmond area home since 1999. She began her career in dentistry in 1997 as an assistant and has had the opportunity to work in many aspects of the dental office. She likes seeing the transformation of her patients' smiles. When she is not at work she enjoys DIY projects, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She really wants a dog but has not found the right one yet!

Cathy was born and raised in California. She graduated from San Joaquin Valley College and obtained her Associate of Science degree in Business Administration. Her interests shifted towards dental and she began her dental career in general dentistry in 2005. She enjoys helping people with their dental needs and bringing a smile to their faces. In 2022, Cathy married the love of her life and moved to Virginia. Where she has enjoyed the change of scenery and has enjoyed the food and art scene of Richmond. Some of Cathy’s interest and hobbies are volunteering her time teaching others about the bible, traveling to other countries, has a passion for plants and loves to discover new restaurants and wineries with her husband.
Carla buezo - Dental assistant

Carla was born in New York City, but has resided in Virginia for the last 20 years. She received her Art degree from VCU. Carla’s passion for art has led her to a satisfying career in dentistry which enables her to work with her hands, be creative, and help patients gain a beautiful and healthy smile. Carla is also a graduate of J. Sergeant Reynolds and is a certified Dental Assistant, certified in CPR, radiology, and OSHA trained. Carla's commitment to education continues as she is currently directing our Obstructive Sleep Apnea program. She enjoys educating patients on options for sleep treatments to ensure whole body health. Carla is a member of the Virginia Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, VIVOS Therapeutic Institute. She is zealous about continuing educating and is always up to date on the latest research and options for treatment. Outside the office she enjoys roller derby, playing/coaching soccer, spending time with her beagle Coné, volunteering at the Richmond SPCA, painting/crafting, cooking up new recipes, and spending time with her family (especially her three nieces).

Kaitlyn was born in Virginia and lived in the Lynchburg area her entire life, but has recently moved to Richmond. She graduated from Southern Virginia University with a bachelors degree in psychology but her passions evolved into dentistry due to her love of helping people smile. In her free time, Kaitlyn enjoys composing music, playing sports, and traveling to see family.

Leah moved to Virginia in 2000 and loves it! She is living at her forever home with a Collie and 3 Shitzus. She loves to cook as much as eating, if you have a recipe to share she is all ears!

For the last 10 years, Leah was in Maryland working for an oral surgery practice that specializes in implants. She has lived all over the United States and enjoys traveling with her loving husband Jim. Leah can't wait to meet you and help with your overall dental health.
